Well, it would appear that I may have to buy a second hand TFT monitor as I sure as hell know how to pick a lemon from new.
First of all, I liked the Samsung Pebble 22" TN based screen.
Fast response, No dead pixels, I could live with the limited viewing angles (as it is TN film,) however I couldn't live with the terrible back light bleed, ever so noticable when gaming in the dark,
RMA'd ( not OCUK)
It seems it is a regular occurence in this screen:

Then I hit upon the idea that TN film may be prone to this sort of thing, as well as the whole S & A / CMO panel lottery thing, so nothing really appealed in the 22" sector.
Then I saw the rave reviews of the OCUK 24" and with it being a VA based panel I thought lets 'ave it !
Alas that too has ended in RMA as it has a backlight uniformity issue that several others are now finding.
So, Unless there is a 22" / 24" non TN based panel out there that is well made and will look like it should with zero backlight bleed and good uniformity whilst still being 5ms or faster, that is available from the shelves or e-tailers (with a Zero dead Pixel pledge) then I think I will keep my money and keep an eye out for a good used one.
Unless that is anyone knows of such Monitor heaven in existance ? ?
Sigh... this 19" Hyundai is looking more and more like a poor relation to a TFT lol
