Worth playing? I had a quick 5 mins on the original and wasnt quite sold on the main hub idea and weapons/armour upgrading.

I'm always behind the times with games when they come out so granted this might seen like an odd post.

Watched the IGN video reviews and the landscapes look great for exploring but does the main hub feature heavily in both games, does it make the leveling up seamless or clunky?

What's the deal with expansion packs, this is something I've not looked up so far, same with online play. Was surprised to see lots of others still on Destiny 1 on my quick look.

Destiny 1 no ship has long since sailed, I did enjoy destiny2 for a long time but tbh I preferred one so gave up with it in the end.

The hubs are still there so if you didn't like it before don't expect to like it now

I used to be really into Destiny 2, but I'm just lost now. It certainly needs you to be consistent in your play. I couldn't once my son was born.

If you've never played 1 and it's cheap, it's worth a bit of time. Music and art is great. There's zero to explore, and that's no exaggeration. This isn't that type of game despite how it's kind of portrayed. It's level up mechanics are quite simple in all honesty (a good thing imo), but the way loot is given out like it's a 5year old's birthday is the issue. Rewards become meaningless as there's too much given to the player.

Enemies are cool, but behave fairly similar with AI using basic hide, run and gun tactics.
Missions are either kill X or defend X.
Strikes are cool, and what normal missions should be, with a bullet sponge boss at the end.
Raids are special missions which you'll never play as impossible without several friends with mics.
The flying bikes you get can be used for a few jumps, but nothing more. There is an occassional one around that has a turret.

PvP has minimal playlists and is worth zero attention imho, in comparison to other games.

I sank nearly 1500 hours into Destiny....and while it was fun times...I vowed to stay away from D2.

The core gameplay is really solid, raids with a good team are awesome. I just don't have the inclination for games that require hundreds of hours commitment to get the best out of them anymore.

Destiny 1 was something genuinely special. I bought a PS4 just to play the first and it has some of my favourite gaming moments of the last decade (raiding with friends or a good squad was amazing).

D2 felt like a massive step back and ultimately pushed me away from the game after the first two DLCs. I've heard it's better now but I've not played in almost 2 years now. Shame as all they had to do was build on D1.

Destiny 2 was getting there but the ruined it with the season passes.

They way they do it now, you grind for three months then all your progress and gear becomes worthless when it resets to the next season and you're expected to do it all again for re-skins of what you got in the previous season.

Destiny 1 was a much better game but Destiny 2 looks a bit nicer.
