Destiny 2: PC graphics benchmark

I only looked at 1080P and went no further. I See from Radox though (thanks Bud) that things do look good for AMD at 1440P and 4K though, so good stuff. Why are AMD CPU limited I wonder?
It's software vs hardware thread scheduling I suspect. Nvidia's front end means it can take incoming game code and split the CPU draw calls over different CPU threads, AMD on the other hand has hardware scheduler (slimier to the old Fermi cards) which if the developer hasn't coded for (most don't) you end up overloading the main CPU core at lower resolutions.

those results are BS.

I get 90 fps constant on a 1080 at 1440p res on the absolute highest settings. Whereas they say 75. my CPU only has 4 threads also. if i was running a ryzen or coffeelake it would be even higher.

Upload a video of the first level or two and show us, 1440P, Highest settings.

Like I said on last page, I reckon my vega64 would actually be around level with that 1080ti benchmark. I know it's still early but it's a great example of the card and driver performing excellently.

Btw, love the Christine music all be it a modern version.

Will bench it next Wednesday when I get my games room finished. The whole rig is still at the in-laws:( it's killing me it really is.

O Tony you not been Gaming lately? With your OC I think you will defo beat a Ti in this Title, its came has a surprise to how well VEGA is doing here... Its smashing the 1080 around like its nothing.

Nope moved house on 13th, been decorating solid since. Plastered every ceiling, painted 3 bedrooms now awaiting brand new carpet to be fitted on Tuesday for all upstairs. Then can get my baby in to my games room and get some gaming done. Got Destiny 2 and Forza 7 I've not even touched or installed yet.

From Tony, noob can't even upload images correctly!

So from what I can tell the 1080 and 1080Ti there are air cooled FE cards tested by one guy and the Vega 64 is a Liquid Cooled card with a slight memory overclock and 20% power limit applied, tested by a different person?

He runs basically stock clocks, All he doing he is taking away the poor out of the box Clocks/Voltage on VEGA to bring it in line with Nvidia much better out of the box!! Its the best of both worlds!!

One is water cooled and one is using the reference blower. Plus it seems like it was a different guy that did the Vega test so probably on a different system.
Water cooled and OC'd/tweak vs reference air cooled at stock seems like an apples and helicopters type comparison, it's not even close enough to be apples and oranges!

Check page 2. Cat posted up OC 1080/1080ti cards v reference air Vega stock cooled and Vega still does well. The thing to take away is Vega does well in this game and it seems to be doing pretty well as of late for a £470 card it's doing decent. When priced well it's not bad at all. Basically in this game OC Vega is comparible with OC 1080ti and stomps gtx1080. Vega needs a lot more of this though

LOL know the feeling, I've gotta redbrick some bodge work in my kitchen in my 1930s bungalow, followed by plastering and painting, refloor and fit new kitchen units.

By the time I'm done it'll be christmas :)

You either test out of the box or you apply tweaks to each.

Why not apply a better power limit and clocks to the Nvidia cards? Pascal has very conservative settings as well.

Agreed. Pointless to manually tweak one and not the others. Although my 1080 didn't have quite the latitude that my Vega does, probably due to less turdtastic settings out of the box!
