Destiny ps4

Hi can anyone advise if destiny is an online only game. Reason I ask is I gkt a ps4 last month with destiny whice I haven't opened yet as playing something else. If it is online do I need any sort of play station sub rioting to play online or is it free.

Yes, it's online only. You can do some stuff without a PS+ subscription, but it's very limited. And even then, you need a working internet connection.
 
Right so not worth playing without ps subscription. I've got Xbox one with online stuff so think I'll sell it and get destiny for Xbox instead then as don't want to pay two lots of online

Just in case you don't know this but the PS4 is a lot more powerful than the XB1. Therefore games are usually graphically superior and smoother on the PS4.

If you can afford to buy 2 consoles then the extra £30 a year it is for psn really shouldn't be an issue.

That would be like me buying 2 cars but then grumbling that I need to pay for 2 lots of road tax.

But isn't destiny identical on both? And from what I've read the difference is negligible.

PS4 has exclusive content. Exclusive Guns and Missions.

Also it's smoother on the PS4 with it being 30fps constant but frame rate dips on the XB1 constantly.

Again everybody knows this is the case with 99% of games on both consoles. PS4 versions are superior. I don't want to turn this into a console war, everyone knows the PS4 handles games better.

He is likely going to lose money on selling and rebuying. Which could go towards a psn sub. IMO it is stupid to have 2 consoles and only 1 online sub. Unless you plan on buying all multplayer games on one console. If you were going to do that then surely you would buy them all on the superior console.

This will be my last post in this thread as I know what it's about to descend into.

OP keep the ps4 version and buy psn plus would be my advice.
 
Thanks all. I already have Xbox sub and to be honest I don't play online that much hence not seeing the point paying for two lots on online. I've already got a couple of online games on the Xbox which a mate also has so illogical to change to ps for online. Ps was a Christmas present so effectively nit cost me anything

I'm not console Bashing , but as Physco says ....why own two next gen console and not have the online subs for them as well ? You would be making you money back alone in the free games and discounts you receive on games .
 
Xbox far better for online than PSN - if he is going to play online on one but not both Xbone is the better choice.

I say this as a PS4 owner...

It shouldn't really be, the answer to the guys questions were pretty simple. Destiny is online only, so pick whichever one you'll get the most use out of. To decide should go in this order:

Are you bothered about the extra couple of guns and couple of strikes?
Do your friends already play, if so which console do they have?
Do you prefer one console over the other?


We can't answer this for you, these are questions you'll have to ask yourself.
 
Or get a PS4 sub for a month at the cost of a fiver and blast it. Once done trade for a PS4 exclusive, you might as well get some use out of it since you have one. Alternatively trade/sell the Playstation and just get X1 stuff.
 
If it's of just what's in destiny, almost every Xone owner bitches about not being able to get Hawkmoon.
I've got Hawkmoon and ppthe Monte Carlo and never use either so what can you do.
Mind you I've got 15 (I think) exotic weapons and barely use any of them.
