Hi guys. I've just sat all night trying to fix this problem and still haven't got anywhere.
Basically whenever I start up a game I'm getting audio distortion and very very sluggish performance. Games are totally unplayable. I can't understand why.
I had this same problem when I first installed my 560ti a couple of weeks ago. But managed to resolve it after some head scratching, by disabling the Nvidia HD Audio drivers when updating the cards drivers. I assumed it was conflicting with my X-fi sound card.
However I just updated to the latest driver from Nvidia (285.62) and the problem has returned
I've tried so many combinations of things to get it back to normal and have failed miserably. Tried installing with/without the Nvidia Audio drivers, un-installing and re-installing Nvidia and creative drivers numerous times, as well as cleaning drivers with Driver Sweep in safe mode. Tried un-installing the HD Audio device in device manager, and disabling it too in various combinations. Nothing makes any difference. Also tried updating my directx.
Help! Any suggestions on what I should do next? Thanks
