Oh dear AMD... the new Core2's are 45% faster. Phenom has no chance at the speeds it's due to be released at, even when overclocked I suspect http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/11/02/phenom-slowed-again
Penryn shows average of 7% speed increase clock for clock over the "old" Core2's.
I'll be picking one up in Q1 '08.
