Is there a way to make a certain folder and all its subsequent subfolders change to the "Details" view as opposed to thumbnails. I ask because I have my music collection with loads of individual folders for each song and it's easier to look at them in the Details view and not the Thumbnails or whatever.

The way I do it is to open my computer, set the folder up the way i like (details, column width, column sort, window size, folder options -show hidden files, etc all options I like, then click the Button that says remember individual folder (folder view settings check box) settings, and important one, make all folders liek this one.
If you have special settings on other folders that might mess it up, but I do this everytime time I come to a new windoes configuration and over time, certain folders get different settings indiviually as I adjust them. I also like the open new windo in other process, this makes windows opened from the root of your fs to open in new window, otherwise everything opens in same window.
To make a folder remember it's settings, i find you have to change it, then close it.
