Finished LA Noire for the second time recently so I'm in the mood for a decent detective/murder mystery/adventure game. I don't mind point and click (Walking Dead by telltale is up there in my all time favourites) as long as there is good enough detail and depth to the story. Not worried about age or stunning graphics either as long as it works on W7 64bit.

Is the Sherlock Holmes game any good? Saw there's a CSI game too but seems to be a poorly made cash in going by the reviews. Anything else?

Cheers!

The last express.
Its a detective game set on a train. Even though it has a small number of puzzles, the game is driven by the mystery. You spend most of your time either participating in or overhearing conversations, or sneaking into other people's compartments to figure out what other character's motives are.

The fascinating part is it all happens in real-time. Play it!

indigo prophercy (also known as Fahrenheit in some countries)is really good
In this paranormal thriller, New York City is stunned by a series of mysterious murders that follow the same pattern: ordinary people become possessed and kill absolute strangers in public. The main characters of the story must uncover the supernatural forces behind these crimes.

Blade Runner looks good. The graphics seem nice considering the age of the game.

I might even consider giving this a go if I can get my hands on it.

I can conform the CSI games are complete poop if that helps. I borrowed one of them from a friend and they were dull and incredibly simple. I think the target audience was primary school children going by the difficulty level.

Also, I like proper forensic stuff like those old FBI files that used to be on the discovery channel and the lincoln rhyme books by an author who's name I forget. Because i knew a fair amount about forensics, some of the things they did and said made me cringe. There were lots of examples, but one that I remember is that it is apparently useless to compare the markings on bullets until you have the gun that fired them. Personally I feel that knowing for certain how many guns were fired at the scene is quite a useful piece of information.

Cheers guys I'll check out each of them. I did get Alan Wake at that bargain price so maybe I'll play through that first. Played Fahrenheit a year or so ago, excellent game! Always wanted Heavy Rain but no PS :(
