[Solved] determining CPU temperature - HWiNFO64 vs CoreTemp vs RealTemp

Hi guys,

So I'm running a stress test (prime95) after memory expansion and I'm looking at the CPU temp and HWiNFO64 is giving me quite different temperatures than RealTemp and CoreTemp (see the screen shot below). Is this because of a TJ Max settings or are those two meant to be different? Which one should I use?

p.s. any suggestions for a heatsink/cooler for me that would allow me to easily overclock to 3.0-3.2GHz?

Thanks

mobo: Asus P5KC (BIOS 1203)
cpu: Q6600 Kentsfield (6-F-B) @ 2.4 GHz (1.25V)
ram: 4xCM2X6400 (8GB) 800MHz 5-5-5-18 (1.8V)
gpu: nVIDIA GTX280
psu: Arctic 700 (+3.3v = 30A / +5v = 38A / +12v1 = 22A / +12v2 = 22A / -12v = 0.6A / +5Vsb = 3A)
case: Thermaltake Armor+

Thanks, Core Temp it is.

As for the cooler I'd spend about £50 but I wouldn't mind spending more (i guess up to £75) to have the option to go to 3.2-3.4 GHz easily

p.s. here are my current fan settings - any way to squeeze more out of what I have now?
