Apologies if this has already been mentioned.

There is a graphics mod for Deus Ex Human Revolution by the guy in the link below, I believe it is the same person who made the iCEnhancer for GTA 4, which I have tried and I must admit, it makes GTA look absolutely amazing.

It seems this DX HR mod, tones down the 'orange/yellow' hue to the game environment and utilises other graphical jiggery-pokery to create a new visual style to the game. Some may argue this reduces the games original visual concept but others may think its a welcome alternative to the way the game looks.

Theres various videos of it on Youtube too. Heres a link to the download page, there are some videos in there too.

Just been trying out the mod myself and I can highly recommend it! It really does make the graphis better. You will take a performance hit but I got around that by disabling Antialising and just having Edge AA enabled. Without Edge AA enabled the jaggies are quite visible but disappear when it turned on.

The readme txt for the mod does point out you need to have SSAO on high/max for the mod to work.

I gave up with it. Nice mod, but performance hit made the game too laggy for my liking. I prefer it to be smooth. When DX:HR stutters in places anyway, any addition lag will become noticeable. I think I'd need to SLI my 570 to appreciate it properly.

Lagging with your sig spec??? It runs fine on my setup - i5 2500k, 4gb ram and GTX460. As said, I did turn AA off and only had Edge AA enabled, gaming at 1680x1050.

Am I missing something?

Are these screenshots on their site what I think they are? An 'after', then 'before' shot? My vanilla DeusXR never looked as bad as that makes out to begin with.

Hate these visual mods that have hopeless screenshots. Yet the mod make probably spent ooodles of time on his mod, and ruins it by making no effort on presentation.

Probably better to judge it by youtube videos that show a comparison. Or better still download the mod, its tiny in size. Copy the files to the DxHR install directory and play the game. Thats all thats required for install. If you dont like the results just delete the files you copied to the install directory. Theres a few files I think excluding the readme's. No replacing of files required.

The biggest difference I noticed was the extra touches to surfaces, eg, shiny surfaces, reflections, shadows etc and also the clarity of visuals through glass. In the stock game, looking through windows/glass is more blurred or unclear in comparison to the mod version. Its really hard to describe but to me the visuals just look more realistic. Similar to how their mod changes the visuals on GTA4.

DX:HR dx9 performance has always been horrible for me with my pc. Not helped that this mod runs in dx9 either. In dx11 though, smooth as silk.

Might try this and run the game in DX11, pretty sure I played through in DX9 first time around. Game didn't run great so I didn't even consider *upping* the settings to DX11!

Theoretically I believe DX11 should actually perform better than DX9 (providing DX11-specific features like SSAO etc are disabled), although this isn't the case in all games.

I haven't tried this (and I will give it a try on my next playthrough) but it really kind of looks worse from those screenshots.

Is it a "have to see it to believe it" kind of situation?
