Thinking about reinstalling this again, remember is being good. Does anybody know of any good updates/texture packs to bring it more up to date?

I think there was a project to update it to the Unreal 2.0 engine, but I don't know if it ever got off the ground. Wouldn't look very good with that applied now anyway.

Let it stay good in your memory. I installed it half a year ago on a laptop and was totally disappointed with how square, oddly mapped and textured it was compared to modern standards (and the game in my memory). Plus you get to have all those pistol duels again - two ammo packs from machine gun at 50 yards away and your enemy is still standing...

There's a new mod coming out for Deus Ex that looks to be the BEST thing for it in years. It's called the Nameless mod, and they've been hard at work for around 3 maybe 4 years on this mod. It maybe a little crazy storyline wise, but the whole freedom and interesting dialogue choices and gameplay will more than make up for it. Plus they have an awesome team of voice actors doing the voices.

TNM and initial patch is out BTW everyone. I have tried it out briefly (and it works fine) but I am having some issues with the whole concept of "Forum City". Arrrggg I like to get immersed in a game from the get-go and I just can't do it with TNM... yet!! Hopefully once I give it more time it will grow on me!! :D

Anyone else tried the mod. yet??

What are you opinions??

I should say that I loved Deus Ex and I'm really looking forward to playing it again with the HD characters/weapons mod. Hee hee. There's still a guy working on a UE2 port of the game in his spare time (even better).

Yup, the graphics etc are well low compared to current tech but its the content, conversations and information and pace of the game that blew me away so much. Like once I was searching an area and talking to various people, think I spent around two hours game time without any combat. This makes a refreshing change.
