The Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof on Cannock Chase is the sole official German military cemetery in the UK, the graves of some 5000 German servicemen are marked by simple granite headstones in a cemetery maintained by the Commenwealth War Graves Commission and their German counterparts.

The first shot doesn't really work in the small size, the focal point being the second headstone. Might post a link to a full version later.

The German 1st World War cemetery at Langemark near Ypres (Ipern) in Belgium is worth a visit (as are the British Cemetries of Tynne Cott (passendale) a few miles away).

At Langemark there are some very sad and moving statues. Unlike the British, the German soldiers do not have individual headstones just a small brass plaque on the grass with six or so engraved names, this makes the presence of statues stand out even more.

Sorry it's not about photography and one can't really praise someone's photos of such a subject?

Thanx for showing them!

Nice shots, i find that shot one doesnt look in focus on any of the graves, i really like the composition of it though. Shot two looks amazing, the processing really boosts its atmosphere, but in my opinion it would have looked better if you had of got all of the grave stone in the shot. The last shot just looks stunning, no complaints and i tihnk this is definately the best of the three, the use of the ir filter looks top notch :)
