Developers get last laugh at pirates

Actually I have this most evil laugh I keep specially for that purpose.

I think of the game developers I didn't pay and....

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAR!

Since it's an anime porn game I guess it would be more like

MUAHAHAH *fapfap* ahahah *fapfap* ..ah..hah..aha *fapfapfapfap*

Also this is highly illegal, if it was discovered that a certain company was known to be responsible for it then they would have a tough legal battle on their hands.

This tbh, even if it's all in the EULA, it's still gathering data.

Also, surely it's not a "fake trojan" if it's actually being virusy and gathering data... it's a proper virus.

All that aside, I call shenanigans.

I can see it happening now.

A software thief taking a software company to court because they released a imitation pirated version and the thief got his fingers burnt because he didn't read the EULA on it.

If you were illegally downloading porn games would you REALLY want to try and go to court with the porn game company...

It's not gathering data directly from their PC though there's a difference, it gets people to manually input their data them self. It's not like the trojan goes onto your PC and looks through your stored files/details which can be deemed as wrongful, they put a survey up and people fill it in, and then it takes a screen cap of their desktop.

If people are stupid enough to input their details into a pop-up survey after they downloaded a torrented game, then you know? Their own damn fault.

Things don't add up in the story but the premise isn't bad.

Infact, you wouldnt even have to use a virus. If the developers and law worked together, you could have honeypot ISO's launched prior to game release which has enough seeds/upload it is guaranteed to be torrented a lot.

Surely that would reduce piracy without affecting the consumer at all.

As it's only up loaders who get done then that would probably mean the devs would get ****ed.

I'm sure a legal companies/"internet police" group tried it and got dragged over the legal coals for it.

Plus if you take your own product and give it away free on the internet can you really argue that people infringed your copyright when you uploaded it?

Of course you know what would happen if piracy ended over night, right? Prices for PC games would go up to £60 each.

I'm not using that as an argument for piracy, I'm just saying.

Yeah it's funny how the piracy free ps3 exclusives are so expensive when devs keep telling us that piracy drives prices up.

What sort of muppet would fill out a survey on a game they downloaded illegally anyway. I don't fill out surveys unless it's for small developers or beta testing. I can't really see this catching on somehow.

Article says it's all in the terms and conditions that you agree to when you install the program :p

even if it were true which i highly doubt i can imagine the company getting butt bashed if the suposed screenshot had personal information , credit card details etc

TOS dont usually stand up in court anyway some are ridiculous i could put tos on my door saying ill steal your money and bash your skull in just because you accept them means little
