Device Manager and multiple entries

I recently changed my motherboard, processor, ram and grahpics card. The odd thing is now when I look in Device Manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, I have 6 enties:

Intel ICH9 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2
Intel ICH9 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 1
Primary IDE Channel
Primary IDE Channel
Secondary IDE Channel
Secondary IDE Channel

It seems odd that I have duplicate primary and secondary channels. Is that wrong or am I misunderstanding something here?

It does seem a little bit odd but then on the PC I'm currently using at work the entries are in triplicate. My advice would be simple - if it works you might as well leave it alone.

//edit although I think in theory you could delete them and Windows should just reinstall only those that it actually needs/uses but you might want to wait for some confirmation of this.
