Really obvious question, but other than the Asus Eee PC do any other laptops have this (very useful) feature?

I cant understand why its taken a budget line of laptops to integrate this and really hoping it becomes the standard.

Whats you thoughts? It works on the new iPod Touch/iPhone so well...

the new Macbooks have them, obviously.

other than that, i don't think any laptops have them.

Why is it very useful? I am struggling to think of any reason why I would want it.

Anything to do with image manipulation for one - zoom; rotate; warping... You could apply this to GPS...

Also you could easily highlight text for copy and paste without having to use a button

Theres probably quite a few subtle applications (mainly creative apps), one Id like is where you could be creating something in Photoshop and still have the brush engaged but able to manipulate its settings all at the same time...

the dell xt tablet pc has now got multi touch on its screen, you just need to update the drivers.

Isn't that just another way of achieving what's currently done by the scroll bars? On my dell I've got a vertical and a horizontal scroll bar which can do all of those things - plus the customizable corners of course ;) Seems like another triumph of from over function given how small the touchpads are- I'd fully embrace it on screen - like on MS Surface - but a touchpad just seems too fiddly for my fat fingers!
