Devil May Cry 4 - Worth getting?

Just got the 10min demo installed from a DVD - I think it's great! A really good fun, 'pick up and play' game :D

Before I hit order though, are there more resolutions supported in the full version? The demo only goes up to 1280 etc. Specifically I'd want 1680*1050.

Cheers,

SW.

Yep supports that and everything else up to 2560x1600. You need to adjust ingame menu refresh rate for some to appear as for instance 1920x1200 only appears if your refresh rate is 59Hz but this game has loads of config options you can change.

I enjoyed DMC 4 (360 version), its definitely not a bad game, it has its own uniqueness and style of gameplay. If you never played previous DMC games try the demo of the latest one and think for yourself, it only gets better with each stage, few cool boss fights as well.

I've had the full version of this game for about a week now, but only started playing last night :)

I was at the first boss character, but it was late and I kept getting killed... so I saved. Now when I try to reload my save game I'm more or less back at the start? My save game say 35mins tho

Any ideas? Is it because I didn't kill the boss :(

You have to finish the missions to be able to make progress, the only thing you can do when you die at a boss is reload at last cp and try to take out the boss again, then finish the mission and save.

i played and completed this during summer, was enjoyable but a bit tedious just running around slicing and shooting for hours, found the boss battles to be fun tho, as its really different every time.

you'll get some survival mode after completing it once, good way to spend like 4 hours non stop slicing through 101 levels :D

I've nearly completed (level 18/20) this and I have to say I've loved it. Some annoying camera angles in places but nothing too major. The whole repetitive thing I can see but I personally don't find it as much as an issue when you have so many different combinations to use. Each monster you fight has its own weakness and strength which helps try to remove the some of the repetitiveness. The boss fights are unique as well and can be challenging on the first 2-3 attempts. One boss took me about 7 tries before i managed to get him down. They should have made the fight sequences seamless instead of cutting to a cutscene of all the red barriers appearing. That gets on my nerves a bit.

A couple of the stances with Dante I've found to be pretty useless and only useable in rare occasions but his other stances are very handy.
