The Devil May Cry for More Systems
DMC 4 confirmed for 360, PC.

Nothing seems to go Sony's way these days. One of the PlayStation 3's bigger exclusives, Devil May Cry 4, is also coming to Xbox 360 and PC. To pour salt into Sony's wounds, Capcom announced that the 360 version would release simultaneously with the PS3 edition.

"Capcom is committed to making its titles available to as wide an audience as possible, and has been building its technology base to meet that goal," said Mark Beaumont, executive vice president, officer and head of Capcom consumer software publishing in the Americas and Europe. "This announcement means that PS3, Xbox 360 and PC owners worldwide will be able to experience the latest installment of one of Capcom's pillar franchises."

Having sold more than seven million units on PlayStation 2, the DMC series is ready to tackle the next-generation of consoles. DMC4 introduces a brand new protagonist, Nero, who uses the mysterious "Devil Bringer" arm to unleash "non-stop combos."

It's unknown if Capcom will offer unique content for each platform. However, in a press release issues today, Capcom stated that "each version of the game will be maximized to take advantage of the systems' strengths."

No release date has been set for Devil May Cry 4, though the console version are expected to arrive sometime this year.

you had a PS3 pre orderd just for this game?

I really never liked the devil may cry games so this news does not really bother me.
 
That's good news. I've never played any of the games in this series so didn't really know what all the fuss was about.

At least I have a chance to find out now :)
 
I still need to play the first 3 DMC's

Bad news for Sony, the only bright side is that i think it has been in dev for the PS3 for a while, so it could very well just be a port over to the 360 so the PS3, may be slightly better, but even then, what will it matter lol

They've said each version will be optimised for each consoles stengths
The latest iteration, "Devil May Cry 4" will take advantage of each platform's hardware strengths to achieve the most stunning visuals in the series to date

so the 360 version will come on 3 disks but have slightly better textures and better AA and the PS3 version will be in 4D and come with real time weapon changes. ;) (jokes!)
 
if so then my PS3 exclusive list is getting smaller and smaller , lol, anyway money is spent and i know my Mrs just wants Singstar to come out, so she'll be happy whatever happens

Aye, I was going by the exclusives thread on here. There are only 2 exclusives left that interest me, I hope more are announced soon.
 
That's good news. I won't have a PS3 by then so it's good I can get it for 360. If the same thing happened to MGS and FF then I'd have no reason to buy a PS3 :D

But I don't see that happening unfortunately.

Yeah they will both be optimised for each console, but i suspect one will suffer compared to the other.

Well your not going to see Halo 3 and other BIG MS franchise exclusives on the PS3. It matters a lot as to which format is deemed to have the better range of games for people that may be buying in the future and deciding on which system to buy, particulary if they can only afford one.

I find it hard to read news like this and then believe how Sony are somehow just going to start and outsell both wii and 360 be it in a months time or a years time. Sony really have been toppled from the mantle regarding being able to throw their weight behind the developers/studios.

Lets hope they have a lot of exciting content planned from their own in house devlopment studios, they sure need it.

must make sense to a developer to release on both platforms..especially as there is already a large userbase of 360's around the world...I assume single platform games are only secure by either developing them yourself or paying the developer a large sum of cash

maybe capcom just figured they would make more by sales then a lump sum from sony..in the end it would have been a simple business decision by the company
 
Yes and most companies are seeing that for their own profits its best to release multiformat.

You then though have to look at what Sony is doing internally compared to what say Microsoft and their attached studios are doing. Im not picking sides but its not hard to see upcoming releases to notice which brand/studios is pumping out BIG games every quarter. Sonys efforts from their own studios seems lacking, Id of thought they would have had at least 2 big games of their own out by launch.
