Devil may cry Screen shots (ps3)

DMC series has got progressivly worse since the first game :( this looks to follow that trend :( Is it still being made by capcom?

Loved the first one so much and been dissapointed with the others.

DMC1 was awsome, what a game! Like stated above they lost somthing as the series progressed, i'm sure it was down to a different team within capcom making the game? Anyhow i'm looking forward to DMC4! Screens look cool and its one of the only two titles that warrent a PS3 purchase for me along with FF13.

FMVs are equally as bad as screenshots if not worse because they are often always CGI.. look at Red Alert.. if you took its FMV as a basis then you would be really disappointed with the graphics.. but you wouldnt care as soon as you clicked Tanya "Shake'it'baby"

Your missing the point. I take FMVs with a pinch of salt and I take Screen shots with a tablespoon of salt. I trust nothing but ingame footage or my own experience of the game.

I dont think anywhere will show 1080 screenies. they may show 1080 scaled down to fit. Would be too much bandwidth, every screenshoot doubling the bandwidth taken and as u say, wont fit on anyones screen lol

Somewhere's gotta show it, as there were quitea few 720 screenies out for the 360 when it was being pimped, when the PS3 comes out I'd expect high res downloads would be avaiable as Sony should really be trying to pimp their true 1080 detail levels, as opposed to 720 etc, though we'll get a good idea of things from basic screenies.

FMV (I think) only refers to a pre-rendered movie. You could make the most amazing looking FMV and put it in a PS1 game. A screenshot of gameplay at least gives a small indication of what the actual game's graphics are like.

From these screenshots I can see that it has much more advanced lighting effects than the PS2 could do, but nothing more than a decent ish PC has been able to do for the last couple of years.

But an artist could have drawn those screen shots. They could be doctored in many ways. I'm not saying they are, simply that I do not judge games by screenshots or prerenderd footage. If I want to see what a game is about I will want to see game footage or try it out. I have never seen the big deal about screenshots. They are showing you what they want you to see. Not nessisarily what you will see when playing the game.

I completely agree, but I'm just saying they are more likely to be accurate than an FMV. An FMV isn't meant to be representative of the games graphics (unless they are trying to pawn it off as in game graphics which they often do) but screenshots are, even if they are altered a bit.

We're getting to a point with these games where they cant really show the graphics quality in screenshots I think. Looks like it might be good, a coverdisk full of demos should be good to have with this console :D

Its gameplay, graphics dont matter!

Pfft, I think they look goodish, but I always get impressed with animation mostly, if everything is moving smoothly and interestingly it looks far more impressive.

I think Sony will have a hard time proving there machine is more capable than the 360. Everyone went out and bought a HDTV because of the world cup and the 360 and 99% of them are only 720p compatible and I very much doubt people will sell those and get 1080p enabled screens just for the PS3.
