They do 4.6GHz - 5.0GHz with very good air cooling, most will hit 4.6-4.8 but above that you ideally need water cooling and a good chip.

Nope, I don't overclock any more personally at home and only game at 1080P so my AMD FX-9590 and 290X are more than adequate for that task.
I want to order a Monsoon Hardline Pro Bender Kit 3/8 x 1/2 (13mm) - Value Bundle and 4790k, i assume as the monsoon kit isn't in stock if i order with cpu ill miss out, as you'll only ship once monsoon kit is in stock?

Interesting that both the bit.tech and guru3d reviews both found the same thing, namely it takes more volts to get the same overclock as an equivalent 4770K and the new chip max overclock stable is actually less than the old one.
Makes you wonder whether it's CPU, Z97 or BIOS related, or user error. Better cooling but needs more volts kind of defeats the object
Oh well, with all the chips out with DPD I guess we'll soon find out

But then I've still not got my head around the Z97 motherboards, do I want to go for the Asrock Extreme 6 for that monster m.2 lane, maybe not for right now, but perhaps in a couple of years time?
