Been having a lot of bad luck with corsairs hydro series over the last 2 years and the H60-2013 edition I bought from OCUK this week sadly is no exception with the pump at max speed producing a noticeable mid pitch whine. So I have finally had enough and I am doing to ditch ALC's for now. So the problem is now, what cooler do I get that is going to be good for mildly overclocking 4690K ( currently 4.3Ghz at 1.1150v ). The cooler itself will have to be able to fit into a Fractal Design R4. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good and most importantly, QUIET cooler?

why not build up a custom loop similar to the H100 series ?

a silent D5 vario pump + 5.25 bay reservoir
any 240 or 360 Rad
2 or 3 mid rpm fans
and a decent socket 1150 waterblock

it will be more expensive than the all in one, but parts can be used on new CPU in future

I think Deepcool Lucifer would perform better and quieter but Im on mobile so can't check now, however it's big so double check it can fit if you like the look

Bequiet Shadowrock Slim, totally silent, you can close the thread now ;)

Use one on the same setup as you have listed and it handles it with ease.

The Alpenfohn Matterhorn is doing the job at cooling my 4790K and it's pretty quiet (can't hear it above my case fans, which are also fairly quiet). I'd also recommend the Deepcool/Gamerstorm Lucifer and it'll fit your case as long as you don't have any side fans installed ;).

Temps stay close to the same + - 1-2C...fan will ramp up from 800 to 1000 rpm if needed.
but always stays totally silent.

What are the temps like after running that test for at least half an hour? They seem like pretty good results for a chip running at 4.7GHz :)..

Here you go, 30min on a warm humid day 23+C in/out today.
Very impressed with the cooler of this size.

Just fitted the Noctua U14S. Very pleased. Second fan for it will arrive tomorrow too, and it cools brilliantly. There's a site on the net that specialises in heatsink and AIO cooler reviews and it's right near the top, especially temp considering the noise level. Plus it doesn't block any of my RAM slots.
