I have a few questions about these and how they share the connection (or would do) on a setup like mine.

I have a modem which connects to a Linksys wireless router.
The router itself has a few computers connected with patch leads and wirelessly serves my Xbox360 and my Laptop and one of my Xboxes (via a gaming adapter).

As I understand it I could use a patchlead from the router to the Powerline adapter to get network connectivity from the mains. I can then plug another Powerline adapter in to connect up a device eg the 2nd Xbox.

Could I then plug in a third Powerline adapter to give a connection to (for example) another Xbox?

Or would this require me to take another patchlead from the router in order to get a different i.p?

Yes, you can do this. Up to 255 adapters apparently. But, traffic received by one adapter port is picked up and broadcasted out other adapter ports - think of each adapter as a port in one big hub, so the practical limit is about 10, or something like that.

When connecting one of these to the router do you connect to the uplink port on the router or just a normal port?

Can you mix and match these products, for example could I use dLan duo stuff adapter from the router to the mains ringmain and then use one of the netgear 4 port switches to come out of the mains?

I have one of them sitting here, you can connect it to a normal port on your router. I assume that the adapters act as a dumb hub, so if I am reading this correctly you are proposing

Modem -> Router -> devolo -> other devolo -> switch -> pc's/xbox

Yup that is what I have in mind but I was also wondering if it would work as

Modem -> Router -> devolo -> mains -> netgear powerline switch -> pc's/xbox

With a secondary devolo coming off the mains as well to another device.

Ok, I have the bits to test using the devolo and a switch so I will give that a go later.

I'm not sure if mixing them would work, unless the way they both send data is done to some standard?
