I just got a Devolo dLAN High Speed (85 Mb./s) starter kit to replace a repeating wireless network (54g) and I'm having a couple of issues.
My setup is now like this
PCs-->Switch w/wireless AP-->devolo--power lines--devolo<--Switch w/wireless AP<--server / PC
They are a piece of **** to setup and easy to use, but I'm not getting the speed I was expecting.
The Informer tool that comes on the CD tells me the two plugs are synced at 75 Mb/s which is pretty good as they are supposed to work upto 85 Mb/s, so it should be faster than my 54g network; however in practice I can only seem to transfer files at around 14 Mb/s.
So questions:

So questions:
- Can I turn off encryption (I can't see how)? And will it improve speed?
- Is there a setting to tell the units to work in high speed mode? - seems a bit of a coincidence that I can transfer at the same speed as the cheaper slower kit.
