didn't know whether to post this in memory or motherboards, but as it's to do with both i'll post it here.

Got a DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR with Opteron cpu.

Just took receipt of 2gb G.Skill ZX 3200 Ram to couple my 2gb of the same RAM which is already in place.

My 2gb is sitting comfortably in the 2 yellow slots. Nothing is overclocked by the way. When trying to put the other 2gb in, my computer wont POST.

I've tried the RAM seperate and it seems it wont POST but i know the RAM isn't faulty as it was only pulled from a machine yesterday.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

Try upping the CPU voltage with two sticks, then add the other two. Since the memory controller is on the CPU itself.

Ok update is that i can get either of the 2 sticks to post

My pair POST
New pair POST

Going to put X2 4400 in to see what happens.

Found a slight proplem though.

Right clicking on Computer shows that i have 4Gb RAM on Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

My gadget on my sidebar shows 3325mb. Same with Windows Task Manager.

Any ideas?

Had to enable memory hole something or other. To map it to use 4gb. Was all done in the bios. Working fine now :) 4093mb :)

Didn't bother testing it with the opteron as it was coming out anyway.

I'm guessing you could try upping the DRAM voltage to 2.8 and the CPU Vcore up a few notches to see what happens.
