I am RMAing my DFI Dark due to the USB Problems (after a while, hearing the disconnection sound and then two seconds later, reconnecting)

just wondering if you swap motherboard like for like, do you need to reformat or does everything fit into place fine and dandy?

cheers :)

I would imagine a straight swap would be fine.......but would - as always - suggest a backp first ;)

have u tried rasing the V core to 1.6

on the Dfi site some ppl have suggest that as a cure to the USB problems ..

also have u flashed to the 6.13 bios ??

that aslo is suppose to help ...

but if like me an all them suggestions don`t work don`t even bother sending ya board back they can`t even sort it after its being RMA`d , as some other guy found out on the DFI fourms ...

which is why i`am binning my Dark board when i get chance, which is a shame as its an realy nice board aswell :(

nxt time i`ll read a lot more reviews before a spend up to £100 on a M/B ;)

don`t just take my word read these ..

well... just got my new dfi dark, everything swapped over and...

the problem is still there!!!

i have indeed tried upping the sb voltage to 1.6, but this seemed to make the pc unstable... and i am indeed on the latest bios...

anyone else have any ideas? i really dont want to change again as i have sofar with this build been through a DS3P, an Asus P5K P35 and now this DFI Dark... i think i'm actually stubborn enough to live with it till they sort it with a bios update rather than change again and reformat etc :(

i can't believe there isnt more documentation on the problem than just that thread on the dfi forum ???

any other suggestions on this matter would be greatly apprectiated :)

Being stubbon about it won`t help m8 :( i had being holding out for about 2 months with mine, just got sick of the USB dropping devices to reconnect `em or not just seeing my USB sticks when i plug them in ...

so in the end i bit the bullit an got a new board ... btw i now have 2 DFi dark boards sat nxt to me thats how much i wanted to sort it out ;)

bloody expensive stubboness tbh ...

Have you considered that the problem lies with one of your USB devices and not motherboard?

Either that or you just got your old mobo back, it happens. :P
