DFI DK X58-T3eH6 Preview

How you find building with the board?

Nothing messed up on the layout?
Layout is fine , great not to have gfx card sat on top of the ram slots :)
Have heard a few complain about large coolers blocking 1st ram slot.
Together with the fashion for taller Ram modules with large cooling area on top. eg
Corsair Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 6GB I've got these which seem even taller if anything :) & PI Black G.SKILL DDR3 PC 12800 CL8 6GB kit.

Couple of minor grumbles in layout found http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/reviews/15827-dfi-dk-x58-t3eh6-living-review-2.html#post46322 but nothing serious.

the dfi and the biostar will end up very popular at their price points
Yes was just talking tpo a mate in US who was after the biostar.

and their bios was easy to tune especially with the "auto" for anything you don't quite understand.
DFI works exactly same way see my 1st clock in which I got to 3600 only altering BCLK(fsb on 775) it may go higher on that, just did that bench for comparison to Clunk's earlier one.
4Gb was quick & easy
4000 20x200 Ram 8 = 1600 8-8-8-21 my 2nd clock I tried yesterday, still a little refining perhaps to do. but not many manual tweakings there really.
It always feels strange moving from a bios that you've grown very familiar with to a new one, personally that's part of the challenge. After a short while you get familiar and wonder what the deal was :D

Sorry drak3,
missed your last post. Last Asus board I had was Asus P5E3 Deluxe which was good but not great.
Vdroop is execllent & tunable First time i've seen other options that enable/disable:-

Quality is great. Single Lan which is fine.

4,047Mhz 19x213 DDR3@x8 1,704Mhz 8-8-8-22
Managed to get a faster ram speed by dropping multi to 19 & upping BCLK to 213

Vcore= 1.3625v , Vtt=1.40v VDimm=1.635v

1 Hour OCCT Linpack

Bios Settings

Good going mate. :D
How you finding it ??
I'm missing a x9 memory Multi, seems odd that there seems to be no support for that anywhere. On BCLK of around 200 it would fit great.

Ah Right , sorry , hadn't connected you earlier :)
Yes think you hit on a key thing that has come with the last few DFI boards
The overclocking on the DFI board is sublime, plain and simple. While many of the BIOS settings are confusing and perhaps daunting to some, NONE of the 'expert' settings were used to achieve this overclock. I just dialled in the CPU Vcore (1.4v), set the Bclk to 202 and the memory divider was adjusted to Bclkx8 (1616mhz). That's it
I've known people avoid DFI boards because of the complexity of the bios. That was a weakness of the NF4 boards , where often there was no Auto option, DFI Have recognised this and are getting it right pretty regularly now.
