ok, after my original dfi lanparty board got, er, how can i put it, a bit damp due to a slight leak, , i have now got a replacement board but need some memory advice. the original memory was corsair PC3500 which was superb ram, what choices do i have to replace this memory now? i want to make every component scream so has to be good clocking stuff.. cheers in advance.

If you're going for 2x512mb then you want to find something with 2-2-2-5 timings, so either some second hand BH-5 or UTT.

TwinMOS Speed Premium PC3500 512MB CL2.5 , 32*8/16chip, 433mhz, 184-Pinn is cheap and uses BH5-UTT.

As Minstadave has said, old school BH5 is the best. If you don't want to buy secondhand though, some good TCCD is very good stuff and get's on really well in LPB's and Infinity's. At the moment i'm running 2x512 OCZ 4800 plats in my LPB at 250x10 11-2.5-2-2-2 1t. I was running OCZ VX 4000 at 250x10 11-2-2-2-2 1t, but like most VX owners i gave up after the third RMA and moved to somthing more reliable :D Don't go for anything with UTT-BH5 chips though, NF2's hate it and you will be lucky to get more than 230fsb.

Yep, there's nothing like real old school BH-5 chips for that board, although I always found that I couldn't overclock the 512MB (double sided) sticks much unless I altered the 1t to 2t. :(
