I am having problems with what memory slots to use, so figured this was the best place to ask.
I am using:
G.Skill 2GB DDR HS PC3200 (2x1GB) CAS2.5 Dual Channel Kit (F1-3200USU2-2GBHS) (MY-007-GS)

According to the manual the channels are as follows:
Channel A - DDR 1 and DDR 2
Channel B - DDR 3 and DDR 4

So in order to get the ram to run at double data rate i initially put 1 ram chip in DDR1 and the other in DDR3 (the 2 yellow slots), tried to install windows and got file copy errors, swapped them over to DDR2 and DDR4 (the orange slots) to see if it was just a faulty mobo got the same thing. I ran memtest to see if the memory was playing up and it was throwing out errors like candy on haloween after address 1024 (the second chip). So i swapped it to DDR1 and 2(1 yellow and 1 orange), ran memtest and there were 0 errors on a 4 hr test.
So figured i just had them plugged in wrong, i didnt notice it was running on single mode until it was mentioned in a another thread, so im long past the returns date afaik (bought all the kit 14th March).
Anyone able to shed light on my dilema, or is this ram intended to be run in single mode (in which case i am a bit confused why it is called dual channel :S).
Some info from CPU-Z:

Thanks in advance

You definately want to being using the orange slots. I'm not sure if there is setting for dual channel, mine just worked as dual channel.

What BIOS are you using?

i also use orange slots, isnt the jumper on the corner nearest to the 24pinconnector something to so with memory?

sets the voltage according to the manual, i dont want to overclock past 4v so left it as default, i havent updated the bios so its the one it ships with.

Wohoo got it working, reset the bios to default and it passed memtest and booted up fine, just gota work out what went wrong now :)

Dual Channel will be enabled when you use an even amount of sticks installed into the same coloured dimms.

So using either orange or yellow will should enable dual channel.

The jumper is for enabling more volts to the memory.

Yellow is supposidly good for running high voltage BH5, and orange for high FSB with lower volts such as TCCD

Agreed.

I am using 2 sticks of OCZ platinum (2x1024) in the yellow slots and CPU-z is showing them as dual channel. HAving read your post above though i may change them around to see if the orange slots make any diff with the TCCD.

Running dual channel in yellow slots - 3500LL 2-3-2-5

Big toes modded bios is ideal for people who have problems getting memory to work on DFI boards.

this has broken something else,
i put the ram into the orange slots, all working fine.
Except now my karajan audio module no longer works, i thought it was a software fault at first and reinstalled windows. But it's not even in the device manager.
I took it out and reseated it but still no change,
i installed the realtek drivers but still no change

anyone got any ideas?

Edit: ok this is really wierd, installed the ram into the yellow slots and the audio device is back :s
does this mean if i buy more ram i am going to lose my sound?
