Hi,
Have just recently bought a corsair xms4000 1gb kit (2x 512). However after I installed it my computer does not boot to windows. I can get into the bios, I've tried to changed the timings to the stock values of the memory but still no boot.
I have heard that these motherboards originally had a bit of trouble with ram and that I need to update my bios, however i do not have a floppy drive and also no spare SDRAM to put in the pc to boot it up to windows.
Any ideas on what I can do?

Michael.

try 1 single stick, and then try it in all of the individual slots to see if you get get it to boot up like that.

repeat for the other stick, its possible 1 could be a bit faulty.

let me know if that works...

If you can get into the bios with 1 stick and still want to flash to a newer bios. Download T-Mod's CD , unpack the ISO, burn to cd using Roxio or Nero. Boot from cd and select whatever bios you want, it solves the lack of a floopy drive.

thanks for your replies, although its seems like my psu no longer works :S
Took one stick out, cleared cmos, turned PSU back on but pc didn't even power up. Checked the back and the power button which normally lights up does not light up. Its a Hiper Type-R 580W.

Thanks for the link to the Tmod CD, wish I knew about it earlier lol.

haha yeah he foes, he doesn't mind really, I actually gave him the gaming pc he has now but he don't really make full use of it. I'm considering swapping my 7600GT for his x1900xtx lol.

it's a bit noisy and power hungry though ain't it, and also I only play cs:s (he only plays Sims2).
With the g skill zx I get above 100fps in cs:s already, so don't know if I bothered.
