DFI RS482 Infinity

why woulld anyone want to buy a crappy ATI chipset? suffers from poor usb and all the other stuff better of buying nvida board matx

find me a matx mb that has as many overclocking option as this dfi mb, and can overclock stability to 300fsb! I really doubt you will able to.
usb problems and all the other stuff??? non of that has been noted with the RS482 board.

You might want to look at the Biostar TForce 939.

I have to admit, the DFI does look very good indeed though. :)

looks good! the GF6100 igp isnt quite as speedy or overclockable as the ati x300 igp chipset though, I know there both slow but I have no option for an add-on gfx as this mb will be in a super slimline case which will have a pci riser covering the pcie slot anyway. the x300 igp scores 1600 stock on 3dmark2005, not to shabby for integrated graphics so that will do nicely for media stuff.
will have a read through that thread

cheers

hi guys
i have just purchased this board to go with a opteron 165 whole lot will be here in a few days so i will report back :)

sweet! whats the retail on these in the uk emu, found a few places that stock it but I'm sort of waiting for ocuk to get it in stock.

looked at the asrock, msi, foxconn,Biostar 939 matx options and non of them have a bios capable of supporting a decent overclock, lack of htt settings really kill any chance of overclocking the mb stably, this dfi mb is different and thats why I like it.
have a feeling the implementation of the SB450 south bridge has been done a little better on this board but let us now if you have any trouble with the USB's, cant say I give a damn if usb 2 only transfers at 17mbs opposed to 30mbs on the nf4's.
keep us updated emo! mini review would be cool :)

hello
Bits arrived today including an aspire q pack case, built the whole lot up tonight and was really dissapointed in the noise the q pack made
so took my old system apart and used the antec aria with a 20 pin psu connector
currently got cpu overclocked to 2.25 on the retail fan that came with it
temps running at about 40 to 45
the overclocking features on this board are amazing compared to everything else matx i have had before
so im running at 2.25 on a 300 watt psu with a 20 pin connector in a tiny little case and the temps aint that bad :)
noise is a big issue for me and the aspire had a noisey psu and an even noiser case fan
could prob mod it to quieten it down but in the meantime i have just used my antec aria
noticed the build quality on the aria is soo much better as well

I don't think it's lack of HTT settings. On my Biostar I've got to 260 without a problem (my Opty is a duffer and won't go any higher without serious voltage). Many people hit over 300 with the Biostar - check the HardForum thread. The problem lies with the no chipset or LDT voltage adjustments. :)

Interesting you mention the fact you prefer the build quality of the Aria over that of the Aspire. I have the Aria, and the only readon I'd go for the Aspire would be the option of an ATX PSU - it looks fugly and is flimsy. The Silverstone Sugo on the other hand... *drools*...

Get clocking, and let me know how it goes. What overclocking options does the DFI have in the BIOS?

oh cool you have one, I will look into the TForce further, it does look like a nice board, if its cheaper than the dfi mb I will be well tempted and again if it had more video outputs such as dvi I would be sold!
With this dfi boards I think you can even run high voltage ram like BH5 or CE6, max vdimm is 3.2volts, thats a 1st for matx.

hi guys
quick update the whole lot was getting a bit toasty in the antec so i switched it back to the qpack, temps in the qpack are a lot lower and im not even running with the case fan on
cpu is running at 38 to 40 degress
i have now got the cpu up and running at 2.4 pretty stable and now just need to mess with my ram timings
im currently using the stock cooler that came with the opteron and thinking of maybe changing to a zalman
found a great guide over in the dfi forums about overclocking seeing its the first time i have done it :)

pretty much 270fsb, thats not bad at all! if you have a decent 165 stepping there maybe even more in it. if thats load temps your system is cooler than mine! and im using the new zalman 9500 cooler (I dont rate it tbh)

yup, even if you are new to this stuff the dfi memory guide will help you get the most out of your mb.
