Alright lads,
messing around with a DFI Ultra-D motherboard and it seems to have a life of its own, when my back is turned it changes it's FSB from the one I set?
I'm not that familiar with DFI boards but most of my Socket 939 was done using various board from the ASUS A8N Series so I'm not sure if its something I'm doing wrong or just the fact the board is gOOfy!
The 3200+ Processor is 100% tested to run at 2500MHz and the memory is some nice OCZ PC4000 which runs 250MHz fine in all the previous boards I've used it.
The picture above shows how things are set once Windows XP has booted and everything seems nice and stable. The BIOS settings are pictured below . . .
Now when I leave the computer running something like Prime95 it seems that the board is somehow changing it's FSB and results in a less than stock speed?
Any ideas what going on? In the picture above you can still see traces of the original 2.5GHz speed around the place. CPU-z shows clearly whats going on and coretemp still shows the old speeds but if I was to close coretemp and reopen it the underclocked speed is shown?
It's a mystery to me!
