DFI x48 Floppy power cable query

Has anyone connected the MB floppy power cable up which provides additional PCIE power, may be adding a second PCIE device (only currently have GTX 280 running) should I connect up this cable - prefer not to as its in an awkward place and will not add to tidiness!

Proably going to be an 8600 that I may add for physx (worth it or not ).....
 
On my abit ip356pro I had it connected and unconnected with a single card and found it made no difference so like you I left it unconnected cause it's not exactly in an easy place to get to.

However, you might need it for your 2nd card. Try it without and see how you go cause the 8600 doesn't use much power.
