As title realy, does anyone know if a log is kept of each of the times the Netgear DG834GT looses connection.

I remember my old router having something like loss of signal and some info.

Having a lot of trouble lately, BE tech support reports 66 reconnects in one morning. Just wondering if there is a log I could personaly check when I get up/after work etc to see if the line has been fixed/improved.

Also does anyone know of any options available to get a slower speed for higher stability. Im right by the exchange and get full whack and would happily swap speed (well a few mb :p) for stability.

I'll mention it to BE when they call me back, which btw they always do. Great support.

Lower your profile :) to gain the speedz, there should be an option on there website :)

I was going to check my uptime however I cant ping or logon to my netgear :\ time for some diagnostics! I remember signing upto BE about a year ago and did this, my line would drop about twice every two hours, now I hardly notice it tbh. Im not here most of the day. My downloads do fly though :) (not to the fullest, but im happy).

Put on DGTEAM custom firmware, play around with the SNR and Attenuation and see if you get a good combination:)

Might also be worth calling your ISP and ask to be put on an Interleaved profile if you are on Fastpath atm.

If you don't mind leaving a PC running, you could run RouterStats which will keep logs of sync speed, noise margin, trigger emails or reboots if noise margin drops, etc. etc.

Well BE got back to me and said they have increased my signal to noise margin? is that different to the SNR? or are they refering to the noise margin.

Anyways I have intermitent bursts of noise on the line and it kicks the net off, hopefully now it will hold onto the connection.

Little info for those that understand this jargon :o
