My DGN2000 gave up on me earlier but luckily I have a spare DG834GT to use. I've got everything set up ok but I can't connect to to the router from my laptop. It was all fine with the DGN2000 but nothing now. The SSID and security codes are the same, tried both WPA-PSK & WPA2-PSK (both with AES & TKIP) but still can't connect. Just upgraded to the latest DGTeam firmware and still nothing. My laptop uses the Atheros AR5007EG adapter and I have got the latest Vista drivers for that but still no connection. I can see my network and the signal strength is excellent.

I must be missing something really simple here! Anyone got any answers to this problem?

is mac filtering turned on? if so turn it off or add the mac address for your laptop to the allowed list

TBh if you have 5 min rest, re-flash with the newest netgear fw then rest again. The "latest" dgteam on is from '08 while netgear have released afew since then fixing the same bugs while tweaking the wireless.

I had the latest netgear fw but then tried the dgteam fw cos but neither helped. I did read on the netgear forums about problems with their fw and wireless so I tried the fw they suggested but nothing there either. I'll have another mess wbout today now that I've had a night's sleep.

Have you tried giving it a different SSID and key and see if it connects?

As they were the same but different routers it may be confusing the wireless card?

Just a thought

I tried that but still no luck. I then decided to have a play with my dgn2000 and put the latest dgteam fw on it. Managed to get it up and running although only 2 of the ports work. Once I'd set it up I was able to connect to my laptop straight away. It's working for now but I'm looking at perhaps getting the dgn3500 as a replacement, especially for the gigabit ethernet. Just waiting for someone to review it now.
