DGM IPS fault - Warranty with ?

The DGM IPS I recently bought (6 weeks ago) went bang; or more than likely the power supply did (no way of checking which part isn't working, although there is no light on or heat with the brick) :(

After sending a webnote to ask wether I should return the adapter, monitor or both, I was informed that I had to contact the manufacturer direct because the warranty is with them - is this correct or is it with OcUK as seems to be stated in the product description?

Within 6 weeks???

Definatley OcUK

EDIT: Tried looking for my original post but can't find it.
I think it was Gibbo advised we would deal direct with OcUK for warranties on these.

Thanks guys :)

I'll just hope the next webnote reply addresses the problem :)
I also hope that it's only the adapter that's gone - sending the whole package would be a pain.

Unlucky, mine just went boom after less than a week. I just sent it back today for a refund, don't want to risk another doing it down the line :(

That's very annoying. I had a similar problem with a Hazro after 3 weeks.
I know wer'e paying around £400 for these "cheap" IPS monitors (Hazro/DGM). At that price I don't expect it to have...

A state-of-the-art design.
A stand with vast range of movement/positions.
A lot of video connections.
A usb hub.
Built-in speakers.

I DO expect it to have components of a sufficient quality to last longer than a month.

There seems to be an expectation that if we're paying around £400 for a 27" IPS monitor then we should accept the fact that they use cheap components which will result in a relatively higher-than-normal failure rate (in comparison to Samsung or Dell) but why should we. It feels like we're buying B Grade equipment, albeit with an extended warranty.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that my DGM doesn't develop any problems. It's not perfect but I'm quite happy with it. Having said that, next time I'm in the market for a new monitor I won't be buying "cheap" again. It's too risky.

Your'e paying the extra over an eBay cheapy for UK support and the additional 2year warranty. Saying that some of these DGM's do seem to be having more issues than ebay cheapies.

A quick update:-

OcUK are still insisting the warranty is with DGM - It appears that all OcUK would do is forward the faulty part to DGM to deal with......

Anyway I contacted DGM and once I give them the proof of purchase etc they'll send a replacement straight out and I can return the faulty brick at my convenience (or at least that's the way the email reads) :)

Not happy with OcUK though - false product description with the return to base at OcUK.

What is going on with the handling of RMA with these monitors? People bought them because it was guaranteed that the RMA was with OcUK rather than DGM, now things have started to go wrong it seems that it wasn't true?

This is of major concern :(- the ? has been raised a few times in the past and answered on the lines that the 3 yr warranty is with ocuk (as is still stated to be the case on the sales particular page !!).

For the sake of clarity , reference any future sales, would a ,properly authorised to do so ,ocuk representative give a definitive statement as to how rma's for this dgm monitors will be dealt with by them.i.e. do we contact ocuk and they will deal or will ocuk simply advise that any person contacting them should contact dgm direct and leave it to dgm to sort?

Not all Ocuk sales staff know they are handling the warranty for the full 3 years but this has been confirmed numerous times in threads on here that they are as stated above Killer also confirmed this.

The warranty on the DGM 27" is a 3 year return to base, we can deal with this. If someone on the phone says otherwise just forward them to my post here. :)

If the product is still available you get a replacement, within 30 days it will be a brand new replacement, beyond 30 days then it will be a repaired unit that is acceptable working condition.

Someone needs to inform the people who man the WebNote about this then.
:)

Dear ********,

DGM are now doing on site warranty though, you can come back to us if you want but it will take longer as we will just get it back and send it to them.

I just received this reply about the faulty power supply for the DGM IPS monitor and it wrongly states that the warranty is with the manufacturer - the product description clearly states that it is a "3yr Warranty return to base with OcUK" both on the website and also on the forums from "Gibbo"

"Dear ********,
You will need to contact the manufacturer directly for all warranty claims on the DGM monitors as it states in the product description the warranty is on-site with them. Their number is 0871 250 8000
