DGN1000 poor Wireless

I have a Netgear DGN1000 and recently noticed the wireless coverage has gotten worse. I used to be able to get full bars on my HTC Desire using wireless G mode but now I get two bars. Youtube vids buffer slowly and web pages load slower too.

I've tried changing the wireless channels, gone through all 11 but its still the same. Rebooted the router many times still the same. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

They are awful. To fix it simply buy a different router

Any recomendations? I like Netgear ones as I'm so used to their web interface. What about the N-300?

I unfortunately bought one of these at the weekend, as Curry's didn't have anything else that was even semi-reasonably priced, and I needed a router.

It drops connection, has a fit if more than one device is using it, and requires upwards of five reboots a day, just to be able to use the thing.

Come Saturday, I'm taking it back and demanding a refund as it's not fit for its purpose. You wouldn't sell someone a TV and expect it to only play one channel, occasionally.

read review on 'rain forest'... possible the worst router on the market.

The TPlink dual antenna N routers are ok, i installed one for my father inlaw. works well, tiny bit fiddly to set up.
