DGN2000 sync issues or something else?

I moved ISP and got the DGN2000 at about the same time so i'm not sure whats going on here.

Basically since getting my Netgear DGN2000 I've found I consistently connect at around 6000+kbps however within 24 hours usually this will drop to 5200 or less kbps however there's nothing in the routers logs to suggest a loss of sync and my own ISP doesnt even detect the change.

I've mentioned it briefly to a guy from my ISP in the past and he said this sounds like a setting on the router that shouldnt be set however I've had little to no help from Netgear support on this problem who have told me to change my MTU to 1430 and try different filters and have now asked me to CALL them, great I get to call some indian call centre at 10p a minute...

Can anyone here have a guess at what they think might be going on? I'm fairly certain I didnt have this with my BT Homehub.

I'm thinking of using the DGTeam custom firmware drivers to see if that'll help, worth a punt?
