Hi People,

Question regarding a public WIFI network...

We have got...

x 1 Netgear DG834 4 port ADSL router

x3 TPLINK WA901ND set as Access Points around the place,
each with own SSID.

x3 TPLINKS same as above, set as repeaters for the above devices.
One repeater per access point, joined by MAC address.

My question is...

1: should I let the DG834 assign the DHCP for the entire network
or should I let the TPLINKs handle some of that workload?
I just want the system to work as speedily as possible.
Looking at maximum of 30 connections at any one time.

Cheers

Gib.

Ah thanks for that. I leave DHCP as it is then :)

If I wanted to upgrade the router to something which was suitable for a public network (+ access controls and monitoring), which router would you recommend please? I would want something which wasn't overly complicated though, or expensive.
