Hi All

Anyone have any experience with this?

In a nutshell...
I was sent a parcel through DHL and then I got an SMS directing me to the "DHL On Demand" website that had a bunch of my info on it. Cool. Everything's in order.

So about 5 days ago, I see that it was estimated delivery by the end of day Dec 25th (I'm in Shanghai)
So as the days went by, I saw it getting closer to me until this morning at 10am I see the very weird message.... "Scheduled for delivery as agreed", but there was nothing in the 'pieces' column, whereas all the previous steps did say "1 piece".

That's odd, I thought, still.... I'll wait.

So the end of the day comes and goes.... no further progress on the delivery, so I call the customer service number. Anyway, the very nice man on the phone said he'll arrange for delivery tomorrow, but I was left thinking.... Was I actually supposed to do something? Was I supposed to click something and agree to something, otherwise it would never have been delivered and it would have forever been waiting to be "Scheduled for delivery as agreed" ??

I dunno.... I'm rambling.
Just curious if anyone else had this experience with DHL and had to 'agree' to something via their On Demand service even though it was a parcel being sent to you by an outside company.

Well, I didn't request the delivery. A company was sending something back to me.
That's why I thought it was weird that it seems I needed to actually do something before the delivery was allowed to happen.

I'll admit, I don't deal with UPS or FedEx or DHL or anything much, so I don't know if this is normal or not. :D

But as mentioned, I called CS and gave them my shipment ID number and he claimed it will be delivered tomorrow.
Let's see eh? ;)

Totally normal.

If a package misses the usual schedule eg driver normally leaves at 8am, then status changes to “Delivery scheduled as agreed” and it goes out for delivery on the next run. This is sometimes the afternoon run, or the next working day - depends on the depot.

I send out and receive a lot of DHL stuff all across the world every day - see this very often.

If it's to do with missing the usual schedule, perhaps it was a Christmas thing that forced the odd message to appear?
Ho hum.... :)

Nope, happens even on a normal day

Eg parcel arrives at London depot before 1PM, goes out for delivery same day. After this, changes to same status “Delivery scheduled as agreed” and goes out next day.

So most likely your local depot usual delivery run is before 10AM so it gets pushed to next day

The DHL on demand part is quite new and reads that status as Out for delivery for some reason, even though it isn’t on the van
