Di Matteo sacked

Ah right, in that case no he's not an assistant I guess, I think Eddie Newton is staying in that role.
That's the problem with just reading media articles, they make stuff up.

Benitez took over at Valencia at the start of the 01/02 season. Hector Cuper was the manager of Valencia when they got to the CL finals.

Just saw his interview on sky, devastating.

Hope it is 6 months with League + league cup then leaves.

Pity Brendan couldn't be his assistant for the next 10 years and then take over :p

He might also lead us to Europa cup glory over Liverpool.

We're going to end up playing each other in the Europa League, you just know it.

It will be strange when he brings Chelsea to Anfield. He won't get a bad reception (far from it) but I don't think Liverpool fans will chant his name with him being your manager, like they would if/when he returns with another club.

I'd say it depends how the season is going before we meet whether we chant his name or not :p

Actually it probably will be anyways, he deserves it.

Love Sky Sports News reporting the massive protests against Rafa's appointment by showing one guy leaning against a post with an A4 piece of paper with Rafa out - only one Di Matteo scribbled on it!
