For years Di Natale was a player I'd heard of but didn't particular notice. Yet this season he has really impressed me, both in the Champions League and also in a couple of Serie A games I watched. He just seems to go about his business, is hard-working and gets results, without being overly spectacular, which is maybe why I haven't paid him much attention previously.

Considering his age (34), this is quite unusual in that normally if I haven't 'picked' a player by the time they hit 30, chances are they will never impress me that much. I know he won player of year award in Italy and been top scorer but I wasn't really watching the league so somehow it passed me by, probably because he hasn't played for a 'big' club i.e. not much in terms of european exposure.

Not quite sure how you've missed him - a quality goalscorer, albeit in a weakening Serie A.

His age will obviously prevent a move now to a "big" club. Shame.
