Diablo 2 at 1680x1050?

Should have my new pc next week and I haven't gamed for a long time..never really on a pc. My friend raves about Diablo 2 whenever he's drunk so I'm going for that straight away. Question is...what will it look like on a 1680x1050 monitor? Thanks

Thanks Neil, I did read that already though and I'm still unsure how it would look on 18680x1050. I know it says res beyond 800x600 but does it scale to any res beyond this? Thanks

Yep I've run it at that resolution. Inventory items, and icons take time getting used to - they're so small now. But otherwise it worked fine in the normal mode (i.e. not with the perspective option on).

be aware you cant use this on battlenet. It will get you banned even if you do find a way of making it work. It gives you an unfair advantage in PVP over people with lower res who cant see you when you're way off their screen, but you can see them.

I had that too and it got a lot worse through act 3 hene i stopped playing

im using a gtx280 on vista 64

it's just not made for high res

i was playing it last night at a res of 1280x720

seems to be the sweet spot for size / graphicscorruption

I tried it and it won't work. I did everything the ReadMe said to do, but all I get is some random symbols (% ^ " etc etc) in the top left hand corner of my screen

do you have the latest patch installed? if so then all you have to do is extract the files to your diablo 2 folder and then use D2MultiResGame.exe to launch dialo 2

after that you just go into the pause menu (escape key) and look in vidieo options, there will be a resolution option

Patched it to 1.12a, used directdraw and ran d3multiresgame.exe as admin and under xp sp2 compatibility mode.

Try ticking the disable desktop composition under the compatibility tab, on d2vidtst.exe and D2MultiResGame.exe then select directdraw worked for me.

i always get that, just leave it for a min or 2 to go through them all then the game loads, no idea why it does it

same for me, i then run the game normally and the options to change the res in-game are there.
