Diablo 2 & exp questions

ok.. when i was young i played diablo 1 a lot with a friend.

now my mrs has took a liking to titan quest and we have played through a lot of it together.

Im now thinking we may have a blast on diablo2 . My question is would we be best playing with the exp installed, and do we load the expansion to get the extra content ?

Also do we require 2 copys of it or could we both play on the same one ?

I think you only need the LoD disc to run the game, so you can use 1 D2 disc to install but then to play you'd both need a copy of LoD.

As for the exapansion stuff the new classes are available from the outset and all the rest of the stuff is interwoven into the main game, you don't need to load the expansion stuff seperatly.

If you get the latest update (1.13 at least) you can play without the CD, which is the only DRM on it. That said, you may still be in breach of the EULA if both play at the same time on different machines installed from one set of disks.

Thats how I did it, I got them on a 3 for £10 deal in some highstreet shop about 4 years ago

And will it look horrible on a 1920x1200 screen?

Yes and yes. Run it in a window at 800x600

Definitely play with LoD installed. Makes it a lot better with the new items and runes.

Diablo 2 is naked without LOD!

1 warning: diablo 2 battlenet has gone all 'capitalist' lots of in-game spamming for websites that 'sell' you items for real money! meaning the drop-rate from 'hunting' has been heavily reduced to try and 'force' you to buy everything! proceed at your own risk

+ gameplay has been doomed since to 1.10 patch was released years ago!
