Diablo 2 worth a play?

Got a copy of it cheap, but never bothered installing after all this diablo 3 hype I'm tempted. If answer is yes, which patches / mods do I need? Also is it best to play single or multiplayer (are there even any people still playing?)

Definitely worth playing. Multiplayer is really were it is at and there were about 50,000 odd people playing the last time i was on last week. This was on the USWest realm, so i dunno if its just stats for that.

You will need to update it to patch 1.12a, but it will do it automatically when you go online.
 
Hell yeah, all the official patched, no mods, People are still playing, either play it single player or on battle.net. I prefer single player but some prefer multiplayer. With open battl.net you can use your single player character so give both a try.
 
I am thinking of reinstalling if it works on Vista x64, the CDs are over 8 years old and not in great condition so I might end up getting a new copy.
 
Absolutely; Diablo II was and still is an awesome game. Currently playing through it again as a Barbarian :cool:

Yep. Works fine for me on Vista x64 :)
 
Ok i have a couple of questions!

1. Is there an easier way to use my skills (Prayer etc) without having to click the secondary attack?!

2. Is it possible in any way to play your single player character over Batlle net?

3. Can we play on the US realms or are we capped to the Europe realms?

1. How hard is it to press the RMB? If you mean switch between skills then you can assign an F key to a skill by pressing it when you're hovering over it. Then you can scroll between skills using the mouse wheel.

2. yes, only in open battle.net though.

3. I think you can select any realm.

1) You can have buffs like prayer on the right hand hotbar and have your attacks on the left hand hotbar.

2) Only on Open Battle.net (beware there are tons and tons of hackers on it and almost all the items are hacked)

3) All realms are available. I myself played on USWest.
 
U MIGHT be not impressed with graphics as its abit old but give it time you like it i just bought diablo 2 and expansion pack should be here next week hopefully play online with some ocuk members
 
the expansion pack is a must, just to get the 800x600 res alone it's worth it

unplayable at lower res..
