Diablo 3 (Console versions)

Played through on PS3 with Demon Hunter but haven't tried any of the rest.

Any ideas on which class to pick?

Well that's down to what you want to play as..

If you liked the Demon Hunter stick to it or another ranged class.

If however you're looking for something different then go for a melee class and maybe give the crusader a go.

I kind of look at classes it 2 different ways:

1 - Crown Control
2 - Boss fights

I prefer playing Crowd Control builds. So if there are 20 enemies, I can obliterate them quickly but those builds often struggle against a Boss.

If you're a 1 v 1 build you will be great against a Boss, but crowds could swarm you and/or just time confusing to deal with.

As you cna play with people her reguarly just pick whatever you prefer.

That break down of course is grossly over-simplified as you can do all sorts inbetween those.

I enjoyed Demon Hunter on PC, but find all classes are fun to play with really. It's hard to know what you'll prefer because builds don't really come into their own until you are a decent level but all have their pros and cons really.

I might go for Monk for Hardcore just because it's not typically what I'd do.
Maybe Crusader or Sorcerer for Normal.

Doesn't look like that many people are interested in my Hardcore Group proposal! lol.
if that turns out to be the case, I'll just try it again once people have played it some more.

a question guys - if the mrs is just a very casual gamer, e.g she really enjoyed watching me play through the last of us and she also enjoys playing rayman etc, i was wondering if i bought a second controller would she enjoy playing this through in co-op or would the learning curve be too steep? :) i really want this, as i enjoyed diablo 2 on the pc immensely.

Diablo 3 is quite possibly one of the simplest and most basic games I've ever played.

Walk into an area -> kill stuff -> repeat

There's no strategy involved since the game's difficulty is entirely artificial (higher difficulties increases the health and damage of enemies). When it comes to picking items - look at the tooltip. If you see green, it's good, if you see red, it's bad. The stats are an abstraction to make the game seem more complex than it actually is. Most spells and skills have obvious uses and little synergy (unlike Diablo 2) so again, it's very easy to work out what to do.

I'd say this is the perfect game to play with someone who enjoys simple games.

I'm afraid the Diablo 2 you loved is not here. This game is essentially an elaborate hamster wheel. If you and your girlfriend know how to manoeuvre a hamster wheel you'll be fine.

After sitting on the fence about it, I went ahead and pre-ordered the PS4 version today. Really enjoyed it on the PC, looking forward to trying out the new content from the expansion too! Might roll a Wizard or Crusader instead of my tried and tested Demon Hunter.

I don't see the problem with D3, so many people hated it and criticized it, yes it's not D2, and I loved D2, but I equally love D3, I just love the genre of a dungeon hack n slash, picking up tons of different items and combining them.

Any remember or played Champions of Norrath on the ps2? very similar and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

Simplygames. my son is playing it at the moment. He says there us no trophy system and the code you can redeem doesn't work.

My copy was oddly dispatched yesterday by tesco! I'm hoping that means I get it today, but realistically I imagine it will be tomorrow.

Haven't bought a day release game from Amazon for a long time now, think I just remembered why... still waiting whilst mates who got from simplygames have theirs dispatched / received :(
