Diablo 3 "Does anyone know" thread....

Has anyone had any joy with levelling up the blacksmith on the early levels??

I'm level 15 with my Monk and spent around 10-12k levelling up the blacksmith until it flashed up that he was a higher level but even then, the items he could produce weren't even on a par with what I already have!?!?!

Also, I'm tending to salvage everything blue or yellow if I have no use for it into the blue essence or yellow tooth-thingy - should I be doing this or is it better lobbing them on to the AH?

I've got about 120 of the blue essence stuff but no real use for it due to the blacksmith issue above!?!?!

Some items from BS I have found very useful (currently lvl 21) others not so much. It really comes into it's own later in the game however.

As far as salvaging goes, you will find that it is currently more profitable to vendor the blue and yellow items and buy the essences off the AH. depending on vendor price of course, but last night i was buying essences for 25 gold each, with some blue items selling for ~170 gold each. Worth checking out.

As a Wizard, can you only attack using spells and abilities? Is there a weapon attack move? Also does the base damage of your weapons affect your spell damage?

Sorry only level 5 at the mo and don't know much....yet

If you go to the skills screen and hold ctrl, it'll show the you advanced tooltip and say the dmg it does. All skills/abilities base their dmg off of your weapon damage.

You can force the advanced tooltip on by default in the options. I think I've got every box on the gameplay screen ticked. :p
