Is there any slight hint at the release date of Diablo III.

No mention on the official website, but it looks great

I reckon 2010, Christmas 09 at the *very* earliest.

We haven't seen Starcraft2 yet!

From the 20 minute demo i wouldnt say it was that far from completion myself.

I think they are gonna maximise WOTLK sales before they consider releasing another game

I said 2010 when it was announced due to SCII, I'd agree with late autumn/christmas at the very earliest though.

Personally I can't wait, really enjoyed Diablo 2, but I expect like others have said it will be late 2009 at the earliest. Blizzard have a habit of making sure games are ready for release (bug tested etc) before releasing it. Which has to be a good thing!

I agree with that but on the other hand, with them releasing a 20 minute gameplay demo now, I can't help but ask the question "Will I be this fussed about it in a years time?".

True, but they do like to build hype these days.

Personally I'm not too worried about the wait, there are plenty of other games that interest me which should be coming out before Diablo 3. Starcraft 2, Red Alert 3, Dawn of War 2 etc. I'm just glad they are making a sequel, I'm sure fans of the series are very pleased.

I also agree with the coments about holding it back while waiting for the other games to take off but from what I've seen it does look good and the only other question is why has it taken them so long to produce the follow on.

I was under the impression that Diablo is being developed by Blizzard North, not the same studio as WoW. Or is that Starcraft?

Yeah it's nothing to do with WoW, different team completely.

I like how they're constantly add little extras with each patch too. They support there games for many years.

ah, after reading this thread had to log into D2 battnet. 6 days to go on my chars before they expired, relogged them all in

Roll on D3 !
