I must be one of the only people that seems to have found it enjoyable but a bit average...

have curious hankering to play it through again tho, but what a slog!

Have you got the latest patch installed? The same thing used to happen to me until I applied the patch manually, the game just doesn't like my dvd drives without it.

-edit-
Curse my crappy skimming >_>

You maybe one of the only people that found it enjoyable but a bit average...

Personally I thought it was a poor game.
It looked graphically dated at release, I played it twice all the way through and then just lost interest.
You have to complete a level in a session or else the whole level respawns.
Multiplayer doesn't really add much, Blizzard couldn't even make the weather do the same thing on two screens in multiplayer mode.

I found the whole D2 experience to be all hype and what was eventually delivered was average at best.
Rumours of D3 - can only hope they make a better job of that one, if it ever sees the light of day.

LOL - you played it through twice and then lost interest? I think you're being a tad harsh......I've played games that I've given up on a couple of levels in, nevermind finishing it twice!

aye, he did better than I did, I finished it once, while other people I lived with finished it with each class and then moved online with it

and finishing it once was an uphill struggle because of that whole get halfway through a level and quit, only to find you had to do it again thing

That's about the most useful thing in the game: it means you can keep running the same area over and over for drops and experience. Add the /players switch and you can shoot up the levels.
