Hey all,

I'm having an issue with my computer at the moment which has left me with a fair bit of head scratching. I believe the issue is two-pronged at the moment, which I suspect are connected, but there may be more which I am just oblivious to.

Issue #1 being that at roughly around the same time each day, my mouse (and only my mouse, which is wired) will turn off and back on after about 15 seconds. Sometimes I need to change the USB port if it doesnt turn back on.

Issue #2 being that maybe every 1 in 10 power-ups result in the fans spinning at 100% but not achieving POST.

Specs are;

CPU - Intel i5 10400F (OC'd @ 4Ghz)
Mobo - MSI Z490 A Pro
PSU - Corsair RM650
RAM - Patriot Viper Steel 16gb
GPU - Asus GeForce GTX 1660

Needless to say, all my drivers are up to date. Malware and Virus scanned comprehensively. Temps are good across the board. (~40c CPU, ~50c GPU)

It might be worth noting that I had the mouse issue dating back 6 months ago but a Windows update seemed to resolve the issue. Now, 6months later, a windows update has triggered the mouse issue again.

Any insight would be much valued.

Thank you for the replies @philo-sofa & @Jay85.

The issue does persist no matter which of the rear USB sockets I use. The ones on the front seem to be a bit more reliable but the problem isn't easy to recreate so only time will tell.

Device manager and Event Viewer are both clear in regards to this.
