First off I have a strange stutter in CS:S that mainly happen when i jump around corners etc. iv tried deleting the .blbo files etc in steam but it doent help.

My rig is as below and i ren at 1600*1200 res, but iv turned setting right down and it hasnt helped. I also get a constant frame rate reported in game and even in demos that I record, its just ingame that I get the stutter.

I think it maybe a program that is causing problems, as if i leave my pc for a while something is crashing and althought the cursor moves windows doesnt respond.

Are there any pieces of software about that monitors each process' cpu usage individually that I can run so I can diagnose which, if any, if messing things up.

Thanks

I have to say that I'm a long retired gamer now, but this to me sounds like you are experiencing a "tearing" effect. Might be worth enabling vsync to see if that helps matters. I'm sure there's a few CSS specific commands you can slip into your config which you should be able to find with a bit of research. As ever with game issues, make sure your chipset/graphics drivers are up to date.

As for the crashing, would need a lot more info to help with that.
