Diagnosis??

In the process of a reinstall due to hdd failure.

Having a weird problem.

After a while, and usually when opening a few apps, firefox and or IE don't lock up as such, but all tabs refuse to load pages. No matter if I close it and restart it, it won't load pages.

Install is Vista. C2D 2.0, 4Gb Ram, SP1.

Thought it may be memory related so I upped the DRAM voltage to 1.92V. Still does it (GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Black Dragon EVO ONE DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GE24GB800C4DC)) (may be a slightly older version)

Anyone come across this before? All drivers are latest available. ANy ideas?

The first time was on a fresh install (about a week ago) on my old hdd which started clicking.

Now it's doing it with a fresh install on a new hdd.

I've discovered I can up the mem voltage to 2.4V so I'll give it a little tweak. Can't do any harm (fingers crossed...)

DDR2 at 2.4V? are you MAD?!?! thats way too high - you'll fry the memory in seconds!

I would check the memory, sounds like the sort of problem you get with a bad stick!

The spec for the memory states 1.9 to 2.4V. I've set it at 2.1 and it seems to have cured it although I haven't stressed it properly yet....
